How does online counselling work?

Business logo_edited.jpg

Online counselling provides a flexible, accessible and confidential way to receive support from the comfort of your own space. It removes geographical barriers, making therapy more inclusive- especially for those in rural areas or seeking specialised services, such as Welsh-speaking counselling. With greater scheduling flexibility and no need for travel, it fits seamlessly into busy lives while ensuring continuity of care, even for those who travel frequently. Online therapy also offers a sense of privacy, encouraging openness. By making professional support more convenient and accessible, online counselling helps more people prioritize their mental well-being.

I use the platform ZOOM to conduct my sessions as it has end-to-end encryption and is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield agreement. It is an Internet platform on which we can see each other and talk in a face-to-face way. Prior to each session, I will send you an email with a secure link to join me at the agreed time.

Confidentiality is my priority. I conduct sessions in a private, closed room and wear headphones to ensure your privacy.

A bit about me.

Yma i wrando, yma i gefnogi.

Here to listen, here to support.

Hi, I'm Beth, a  registered person-centred counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. My approach is rooted in empathy and respect for your unique experiences. Currently living in Vancouver, Canada, my heart remains firmly connected to the UK, where I began my counselling journey. I'm passionate about giving back to the community that shaped me. I truly believe that healing begins with feeling heard, and I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey.

Originally from North Wales. I now offer online counselling to UK-based clients, over the age of 18, including those looking for support in Welsh. My personal and professional experiences have deepened my understanding of grief, change, and emotional well-being, which is why I am passionate about helping others navigate life's changes. Whether you're facing loss, anxiety, self-doubt, or simply need someone to listen, my goal is to provide a space where you feel valued and understood.

I know that reaching out for support can feel daunting, but you don't have to do it alone, if you're considering counselling, I'd love to hear from you.

Training, qualifications and experience.

I have dedicated my career to supporting people through life's challenges, with over seven years of experience working with both young people and adults in various support roles- privately and within the NHS. My journey into counselling was shaped by a deep-rooted passion for helping others feel seen, heard and understood.

My academic background reflects my commitment to understanding human behaviour and emotional well-being. I hold a BA in Education and Early Years, an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Therapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. These qualifications have provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theory, therapeutic approaches and the complexities of human development.

As I trained to become a counsellor, I volunteered with a charity offering support to young people, and within a third sector providing online counselling for frontline workers. These experiences deepened my understanding of the diverse challenges people face and reinforced my belief in the power of therapy to create lasting change.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I adhere to their ethical framework and continually engage in professional development to ensure I offer the best possible support to my clients.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that everyone deserves to be heard, valued and supported-no matter where they are on their journey.
